To get the most out of life it’s essential that we achieve comfortable freedom of movement; this is the objective of the Pilates method. Developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates in the 1920's The Pilates method uses specifically designed equipment and floor exercises to promote uniform development of the musculature of the body. His guiding philosophy was that the body must be exercised in its entirety to achieve good health. While his combination of yoga based breathing exercises, Tai chi’s focus on balance, and weight training’s focus on strength has developed with our understanding of biomechanics, Pilates still stays true to its founding principles. Weaker muscles are strengthened to support more developed muscles to more evenly distribute the work and stress that a body goes through on a day to day basis. We start with the core muscles like the stomach, the back and the buttocks. In essence we are working from the inside out with the end goal of achieving perfect alignment and improved balance.I’ve found Pilates to be the best resource to rectify posture, helping to develop longer leaner muscles. My personal approach to Pilates, as with any of my offerings, is centred around observation. By assessing each client’s personal issues, I can tailor each session to the individuals needs by targeting specific problem areas or by setting specific goals. Pilates can help with everything from muscle tone, to breathing and circulation, to injury prevention, rehabilitation and more. I truly believe that this time honoured and proven offering should be part of everyone’s journey to a better quality of life.

Pilates Online

Online sessions use minimal props so they’re perfect to do from home. Private sessions are tailored to the individual and group classes are kept small so that everyone receives personal adjustments to their work.

How they work:

  1. Book via the booking link which will direct you to our Acuity booking platform.

  2. Payment is through the app using Square

  3. On completion of booking you will receive an e-mail with the Zoom link. Click the link 5 minutes before the class starts.

  4. For optimal results please ensure a good camera angle of your Mat
